Sankranti is the most important harvest festival for the people of Andhra and we Telugu folks call it ‘Pedda Panduga’. Sankranti is celebrated over four days, the first day is called ‘Bhogi’, the second day is ‘Sankranti’, the third day is, ‘Kanuma’ and the fourth day is, ‘Mukkanuma’. Each region and home prepare their own versions of sweets and savories to usher in the harvest season and offer Thanksgiving to nature, our sacred cow or 'gomata' and our beloved ancestors.
